Completed in 1997, Ken Browne. as Senior Vice President of HRH Construction, directed the development of Columbia University’s Center for Disease Prevention. This structure, a combination of architectural precast concrete and an aluminum curtain wall, was the second academic research facility built as part of the Audubon Biomedical Science and Technology Park. Similar to the Park's first structure, this building's facade was designed to connect with a future building. The building’s construction for the laboratory spaces utilize use state of the art materials. In addition to laboratory space, the facility includes darkrooms, cold and a video conferencing center. Satellite communications equipment allows this sophisticated building to connect to other research facilities around the world.
